“Dragons Forever” Blu-ray Giveaway

Originally released by 88 Films as part of their 88 Asia Collection in 2022, the 4K UHD restoration of Dragons Forever from directors Sammo Hung and Corey Yuen finally comes stateside January 10th, 2022. Due to the generosity of MVD Entertainment Group, EoM is giving away one (1) Blu-ray Special Edition of the restoration to one individual ahead of the U.S. release. Official Synopsis:

Hotshot lawyer Jackie Lung (Jackie Chan) is hired to defend the owner of a factory which, unbeknownst to him, is the centre of a clandestine narcotics syndicate. He enlists resourceful acquaintances Wong Fei-Hung (Sammo Hung) and Dung Dak-Biu (Yuen Biao) to assist in the case, but loyalties begin to falter when romance blossoms between both sides.

  • Beyond Gravity – in this archival program, martial arts/background performer Joe Eigo discusses the enormous impact Bruce Lee’s films had on him and his eventual transition to the film business. In English. (13 min).
  • Double Jeopardy – in this archival program, martial arts performer Brad Allen explains how Jackie Chan’s style influenced his work and career and discusses his style. In English. (27 min).
  • Working with the Dragons – in this new program, stunt coordinator, performer and choreographer Jude Poyer recalls his work with the stars of Dragons Forever on different projects. (7 min).
  • Hong Kong Cinema Forever – in this new program, Hong Kong cinema expert Mike Leeder quickly addresses Dragons Forever and the things that make it a special film. In English. (6 min).
  • Discussing Dragons Forever – in this new program, Professor of Cinema Studies David Desser discusses Jackie Chan’s legacy and the importance of the ’80s action films he made. In English. (7 min).
  • Benny Forever – in this new program, Benny ‘The Jet’ Urquidez discusses his acting career and the various action films he appeared in together with some of the greatest stars of Hong Kong cinema. In English. (25 min).

  4. One (1) selected winner will be awarded with one (1) Blu-ray copy of Dragons Forever.
  5. Participants understand that the prize is not the responsibility of Elements of Madness.
  6. Winners must live in the contiguous United States, Alaska, or Hawaii. Elements of Madness does not ship internationally.
  7. Information collected during the giveaway will not be shared or disseminated and will only be used to mail the Blu-ray to selected winners.
  8. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or other items.
  9. Prize cannot be swapped or traded for anything else.

  1. Sammo is one of the reasons me and my friend, back in the 90’s , would drive an hour and a 1/2 up to Portland to see Hong Kong releases in a theater up there. We would spend the weekend up at his dads and while he was at work we were watching Kung Fu and action flics. Sammo, Jackie and Chow Yun Fat were some of the best.
