Open Dialogue with “Skincare” director Austin Peters and actor Luis Gerardo Méndez.

In this edition of Meet Me at the Movies: Open Dialogue, Thomas Manning sits down with some of the cast and crew of the new IFC Films production Skincare.

Director Austin Peters and actor Luis Gerardo Méndez talk about making this “sunshine noir” and the dark side of the Hollywood fashion world.


Official Synopsis:

Famed aesthetician Hope Goldman (Elizabeth Banks) is about to take her career to the next level by launching her very own skincare line, but her personal and work lives are challenged when rival facialist Angel Vergara (Luis Gerardo Méndez) opens a new skincare boutique directly across from her store. She starts to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage her reputation and business, and together with her friend Jordan (Lewis Pullman) she embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery of who is trying to destroy her life.

Thomas Manning is a member of the NCFCASEFCA, and CCA, and also the co-host of the television show and radio program Meet Me at the Movies. He has served as a production assistant and voting member on the Film Selection Committee for the Real to Reel Film Festival. Additionally, he manages his own film review and interview site, The Run-Down on Movies. Manning is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a double-major in Communications and English. His passion for cinema and storytelling is rivaled only by his love for the music of Taylor Swift.
