In this edition of Meet Me at the Movies: Open Dialogue, Thomas Manning talks to actress Kathryn Newton about her role as Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Newton looks back at her impressive résumé of on-screen parents throughout her filmography (Frances McDormand, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, and now Paul Rudd), and also gets a chance to highlight one of her new favorite MCU characters, Veb (David Dastmalchian).
Footage is used by permission for review, interview, parody, and educational purposes. Thomas Manning is a registered film journalist with SEFCA and the North Carolina Film Critics Association.
Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. Director Peyton Reed returns to direct the film; Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard produce.
In theaters February 17th, 2023.
