During this discussion, Higgins talks about adapting James Lee Burke’s short story into a feature film, working with Thandiwe Newton in this character-driven drama, filming on location in Montana, and the stunning cinematography captured by Director of Photography, Andrew Wheeler.

A black former police officer turned professor in a rural college town is drawn into an escalating battle of wills that puts her most deeply held values to the test in this gripping modern day Western.

Thomas Manning is a member of the NCFCA and SEFCA, and also the co-host of the television show and radio program “Meet Me at the Movies.” He has served as a production assistant and voting member on the Film Selection Committee for the Real to Reel Film Festival. He is currently studying film, television, and English at Gardner-Webb University.
