In this special edition of Meet Me at the Movies, host Noel T. Manning II sits down with filmmakers Adam Carter Rehmeier and Rod Lurie to discuss their latest films, Carolina Caroline and Lucky Strike.
First, Rehmeier shares insights into Carolina Caroline, a moving road-trip action/drama/love story that explores identity, relationships, and the unexpected turns that shape our lives. Then, acclaimed filmmaker Rod Lurie joins Noel to discuss Lucky Strike, his powerful World War II drama that examines courage, sacrifice, and the human stories often hidden within history.
Together, these conversations offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, the challenges of bringing personal and historical stories to the screen, and the themes that connect audiences across generations.

Acclaimed director Adam Carter Rehmeier’s romantic crime thriller stars Samara Weaving (Ready or Not; Borderline) as Caroline Daniels, whose desire to leave her small Texas town brings her into the orbit of a charismatic con man (Kyle Gallner), and together they weave a path of crime and passion across the American Southeast. Also starring Kyra Sedgwick, the film features a wide-ranging country music soundtrack, with tracks from artists such as Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, and over a dozen others.

Inspired by true events, Lucky Strike tells the story of one soldier trapped behind enemy lines during the last major German offensive during WWII, what will become known as The Battle of the Bulge. Armed only with his Motorola SCR-300 radio, a new technology only battle-ready near the end of the war, he must use his wits and spy craft to thwart the advancing Nazi Panzer army and find his way back home.
