This may be the episode that finally breaks Douglas. That’s right, everyone, Darryl came up with a topic so simple, yet so complicated, that it nearly broke Douglas’s ability to make decisions. On episode 28 of The Cine-Men, these two explore what films they love by first-time directors. Considering how many films were first-time hits – Ex Machina, The Shawshank Redemption, Caddyshack, and Boyz N the Hood (to name a humble few) – trying to come up with just three ended up being harder than expected. The boys also throw down the gauntlet to each other with Darryl watching Darren Lynn Bousman’s cult film Repo! The Genetic Opera and Douglas checking out John Lee Hancock’s The Highwaymen.
